On January 28, the Chamber welcomed MPP Tyler Allsopp for a Cabin Chat with members from across the region. This is another example of how the Chamber brings local voices directly to decision-makers.
Members representing business, social services, housing, healthcare, education, logistics, arts, and property management shared real, on-the-ground insights with the MPP. Topics included varying community concerns: housing affordability and homelessness, workforce and funding pressures, regulatory inconsistencies across regions, infrastructure and road safety, access to industrial land, healthcare and patient transfer standards, fair wages, and the critical role of arts and culture in economic vitality.
These conversations are a core benefit of Chamber membership. Cabin Chats create a trusted space for members to raise challenges, share solutions, and collectively advocate for policy changes that support strong, inclusive, and sustainable regional economy.
Thank you to MPP Allsopp for listening and engaging. And, thank you to our members who showed up, spoke up, and helped ensure local perspectives are heard at the provincial level.
And of course, we had to put the MPP to work while he was here! He graciously grabbed a shovel to help ‘clear the way’ to the Chamber for local voices today!
