The Belleville Chamber of Commerce has been honoured to serve the business community since 1864. Originally chartered as a Board of Trade for Hastings County, businesses were required to participate. In 1920 it was converted to a Chamber of Commerce and represented one of the most successful Chambers in Eastern Ontario at that time. As the County developed, additional Chambers were formed in Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Madoc and Tweed. Although we are separate Chambers representing different cities and towns, we take a regional approach to our endeavours. After all, business knows no boundaries.
It’s good business to be a part of the Belleville chamber. We are the ‘Voice of Business’ at Municipal, Provincial and Federal levels, speaking on concerns that matter most to business and our members. As a gateway to the business community, we strive to provide support to ensure that Belleville has a strong, growing and healthy economy for continued investment.
Today, we represent and celebrate the success of more than 500 businesses which range from small home-based sole proprietorships to large corporations. Since 1920, the Chamber has had 5 different office locations throughout the city. Today we are located in the historic Log Cabin at 5 Moira Street East. The cabin is almost as old as the Chamber itself, originating in Eganville and brought to Belleville in 1978 as part of the City’s Centennial celebrations. As the “front door” to our community the Log Cabin contains a Visitors Information Centre virtually supported at DiscoverBelleville.ca for the city which is open year around.
Our door is open to members, tourists, and local residents alike and we encourage you to come on by and see what we can do to help your business prosper.
